Scouting for Food

Scouting for Food is Scouting America's nationwide food drive. Since 1988, Scouts across the country have collected nonperishable food for their local food banks and pantries every fall, as a Good Turn for the communities they live in.

Troop 89 runs its Scouting for Food drive every November. Scouts spend a Saturday at local grocery stores collecting donations from shoppers, and everything collected stays on the mountain and goes to [local food pantry].

This year's drive

Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Jensen's in Blue Jay and Stater Bros. in Lake Arrowhead Village. Pick up a few extra cans, boxes, or jars while you shop and hand them to a Scout on your way out. [Collection hours.]
